Role convergence is playing a part in development and change in staff roles, and nurses' knowledge of patients is useful when the nurse?as in this case?has to set the dose of anticoagulant medication. A small-scale study shows that the patient's risk of suffering adverse reactions to the treatment are not increased when this is managed by a nurse.
