Development and innovation is important in future solutions for care at a distance. The project Innovation Hub for healthcare at a distance is a national initiative to
support exchange of experiences through best practice and networking and to catalyse the development and implementation of new solutions. The purpose of the Innovation
Hub is to decrease the time and costs for development, to create more functional (inter)national solutions, and to give the industry a better understanding of the needs in
health care. Two examples of solutions are given. Video assisted ERCP increases the education level at the local hospital, it provides equal judgment of patients and
reduces the costs for the care. Speech therapy at a distance increases the quality of care and possibilities to continuity in the care relation between doctor and patient.
