Several possible reasons exist for diagnostic variations
at the dental clinic, one could be a qualitative
differences between observers and another might
be attributed to the individuals use of different diagnostic
criteria although both possess similar diagnostic
skills. Different teaching centres often
develop their own methods of practice and use of
definitions and terminology, which also complicates
the situation further. In addition, clinicans should
be aware that the test sample obtained may not
truly reflect the state of the disease in question.
