Sammanfattning
This study is based on 10 months of ethnographic fieldwork with Romanian
Roma who live and work in the streets of Copenhagen and Malmö. The
purpose of the study is to give attention to the experiences of a group of people
in our societies, who are often debated but seldomly heard in their own
voice. It brings novel knowledge on the significance attached to work and
home by these formally homeless and unemployed EU citizens This is done
through ethnographic material, which illustrates the experiences that Roma
women and men have with maintaining their homes in Romania, creating a
safe home on the street as well as with job searching and working with bottle
collection and begging in Copenhagen and Malmö.
