Sammanfattning
Oral melanotic macule is a benign focal pigmented lesion. It is most commonly seen on the
lower lip and gingiva but is also found in the buccal mucosa and palate. Here we present an oral
melanotic macule in the hard palate of a 39 year old woman. Clinical differential diagnoses of this
focal melanocytic lesion are melanoacanthoma, melanocytic nevus and early malignant melanoma.
An oral melanotic macule in the hard palate should be excised in order to exclude the possibility of
an early malignant melanoma.
