Effekten av komplementaer ytre regulering (KYR) på tvangstiltak
Sammanfattning
We examined whether implementation of Complementary External Regulation (CER) led to a reduction in coercive measures in female patients. Women admitted to the CER ward and a comparison ward from 2006 to 2014 were included (n = 101). We extracted data on mechanical, psychopharmacological and physical restraint and open-area seclusion (selected § 4 resolutions) from medical records and protocols. Changes in the use of coercive measures were investigated first with non-parametric tests and then with general linear modeling adjusted for possible covariates. At the CER ward a decrease was seen in both total § 4 resolutions (99 %) and in the proportion of patients with at least one resolution (74 %). No systematic changes over time were found at the comparison ward. CER may be a promising intervention for reducing coercive measures at long-term psychosis wards.
