Jeg er en bedre mor end min egen mor - unge og sårbare mödres oplevelse af at deltage i en mor-og-barn-gruppe
Sammanfattning
The aim was to evaluate a support group for young vulnerable mothers. The frame of reference
was phenomenological-hermeneutical; data was generated through nine semi-structured
interviews, which were analyzed with systematic text condensation, as outlined by Malterud. Five
themes were identified: a healthy life style – from junk food to vegetables, becoming a better
mother, meeting like-minded others, being taught – preferably not too much like in school, and
creating more time to talk. More specifically, the mothers experienced that they improved the
quality of their food intake. Socially, it was a positive experience to meet mothers like themselves.
The input and the guidance from professionals were helpful and instructive, but some sessions
were too much like school. The mothers expressed a desire for more time to talk about their individual
situations. In general, the mothers experienced improvements in their abilities as mothers.
