Sammanfattning
A substantial part of the total burden of disease is made up of conditions that are preventable. Recognizing this fact should make health professionals of all kinds eager to influence public opinion in order to support health political measures aimed at decreasing such sickness. Experience from the tobacco control area shows that politicians indeed can be influenced by health professionals. However, when considering all kinds of recognized unhealthy behavior in the population most of the opinion building work remains to be done.
