Ameloblastoma is a benign but locally aggressive tumor. The treatment is surgical removal of the tumor by curettage or resection. The defects after ablative surgery varies in size, and can create a need for surgical and/or prosthetic reconstruction. This article provides examples of treatment options in the mandible. Dental implants are important tools for rehabilitation of function and esthetics, and may even in cases with severe loss of bone be used successfully without bone augmentation
