Sammanfattning
A joint crisis plan is highlighted in several of the Norwegian national guidelines as a recommended measure for treatment of adults with mental health difficulties. The purpose of our qualitative study is to describe patient experiences with joint crisis plans and to highlight how patients have used such plans after being discharged from a psychiatric ward. Data were collected through six semi-structured interviews and the analysis was conducted through qualitative content analysis. The conclusion is drawn that the joint crisis plan is beneficial for those patients who can implement the use of it. This research can contribute valuable insight about how to work with joint crisis plans and can ensure that patients’ ability to help themselves during crisis increases.
