The study describes vocational work in an ordinary workplace for people with mental health problems or alcohol/drug problems. The aim for this study is to explore in what ways such work can be interpreted as a personal recovery strategy for people with mental health problems or drug problems. The study is based on 12 qualitative interviews with managers and workers placed in an ordinary workplace. The article argues that work in ordinary workplaces for people with mental health problems or drug problems can lead to personal recovery.
