Sammanfattning
The aim of the study is to investigate nursing students’ experiences with a course in relational mindfulness training. It is a qualitative study based on four focus group interviews. The results confirm and elaborate how mindfulness training can help students to handle different types of stress. The students also express higher self-awareness in their interaction with others. In their discussion around the increasing demands of efficiency improvement in public health service, the students’ solutions to the challenges were on an individualistic level. The results are discussed in an individualistic, relational and structural perspective. A central question discussed is whether relational mindfulness in education of nurses can be seen as part of a commodification of public health service, or as a contribution to a critical discussion around the values in health care where they are in a central position.
