Caring is a commonly used word
in health and nursing literature.
Yet it is not clearly defined. In
order to investigate the topic in
the context of cancer, twelve cancersurvivors
were interviewed.
The findings show that good care
in addition to medical treatment
is essential to Quality of Life and
potentials for regaining strength.
Somebody who cares, good conversations
and to achieve hope
and strength are essential phenomena
of good cancer care. Negative
experiences are no follow -
up, no time for crying or talking,
not to take part in the knowledge
and no empathy. The findings are
discussed, and recommendations
for practice are given.
