Sammanfattning
The purpose of this interview study was to evaluate whether patients could assess doctors' performance on wards. The doctors' performance was assessed in terms of their competency, as described in the CanMEDS 2000 project. Thirty patients participated in the study. Patients can assess and communicate about physicians' skills in a way that is suitable for doctors' use by evaluating their performance within the framework of the seven physician roles. This provides a valuable source of information that is useful for refinement and development of doctors' professional skills.
