Sammanfattning
Torsades de pointes (TdP) is a form of ventricular tachycardia associated with QT-interval prolongation. QT-interval prolongation leading to TdP can be caused by antiarrhythmic drugs as well as a variety of non-antiarrhythmic drugs such as cisapride, antihistamines, macrolide antibiotics and antidepressants. We present a case history of a patient with cardiac arrest and ventricular fibrillation probably caused by TdP associated with the abuse of diuretics in combination with both cisapride and antihistamine therapy.
