Sammanfattning
In continuation of the preparation of a nursing research strategy at the Centre for Medicine at Aalborg Hospital, Århus University Hospital a journal club has been established for clinical nurses. This article provides insight into the structure of the journal club and its significance for clinical practice. The club, which has been functioning in its present for about a year now, has been evaluated by its members. Evaluation has shown that members make use of the knowledge and skills they have derived at the club. It is now natural for them to read scientific ar-ticles related to nursing issues and have generally become practised in critical reading of articles. They also believe they have generally gained better insight into what research is about. This is to say know-ledge of the research process and insight into the approaches of the various methods, what they say and how they help them instruct their students.
The members also find that the club helps to increase their awareness when it comes to their own practice and gives them the opportunity to change this practice. This helps to improve their professional identity.
