Sammanfattning
At Anaesthesiological Intensive Care Department I at Århus University Hospital, Skejby, we have been using nursing narrative as an implementation tool in connection with the introduction of a new policy towards relatives and family.
We have had good experiences with practice narration as an implementation tool. The nurses are focused and reflect on the same subject, albeit on the basis of different practical experiences. The new policy is therefore relevant and therefore makes sense to individual nurses. At the same time, the nurses have realised what functions and what does not in their interaction with relatives. They have the opportunity to discuss different perceptions of practice. Shared reflection and nursing narrative make the nurses aware of new contexts and a more complex picture of reality. They form a basis on which to build further.
The experiences can easily be transferred to other areas of focus. E.g. new instructions, new procedures or simply subjects they may wish to go into more depth with such as the observation, care and treatment of patients in pain.
