Sammanfattning

Within the field of evolutionary psychology variation in human behavior is often explained as a result of genetic or environmental influences or as a result of an interaction between such influences. In this review recent molecular research with relevance to the understanding of these ideas is reviewed. It is concluded that animal and human behavior may be influenced by variations in the genetic code, by gene by environment interaction effects and by epigenetic changes of DNA and the DNA-chromatin complex in response to environmental exposures.
