Sammanfattning

Following the bus crash on county road 288 on 27 February 2007 the media were out in force. Altogether 132 press photographers and journalists from the press, radio and TV worked at the accident site, assembly area and hospitals during the 48 hours following the accident. In line with the Swedish Road Administration’s recommendation, it should be made compulsory for safety reasons for members of the media to wear fluorescent orange vests in accident areas. The names of the respective media companies should be clearly displayed as well. Media companies can help affected individuals by publishing information about web links to other media, to receiving hospitals and their press releases, and to other valuable organisations.
