Sammanfattning
Precipitating factors in migraine are common and knowledge of these may perhaps reduce the use of medications. In a questionnaire 169 female migraineurs of fertile age answered which factors that could precipitate an attack in them, and eventually how often this occurred. The results were compared with existing literature and give an overview of the most important trigger factors in migraine. More than 80 % of the patients were of the opinion that more than 50 % of their attacks were triggered by specific factors. The most frequent reported were stress (86 %), intense light (75 %), lack of sleep (69 %), menstruation (61 %), wine (55 %) and too much sleep (47 %). These results are in accordance with earlier studies. Only a few precipitating factors in migraine have scientific importance, but for the individual patient several factors may be of importance, and identification by the individual patient may probably be crucial to achieve good migraine control.
