The aim of the project was to evaluate whether an intervention involving a variety of measures could improve nursing documentation on a medical unit. The project took the form of an interventional study. Efficacy was measured using the auditing tool "cat-ch-ing" at baseline, during, and after the intervention. Forty-three nurses and social- and healthcare assistants participated in the project.
The results showed that the nursing documentation was significantly improved following the intervention. We can recommend using different measures, but in particular a focus on individual training of the entire group of personnel by an expert/specialist in documentation.
