Fluorid-positronemissionstomografi/computertomografi til differentialdiagnostik ved mistanke om knoglemetastaser
Sammanfattning
A female, aged 39 years, who had been diagnosed with breast cancer in 2004 was admitted for bone scintigraphy due to newly onset pain in the back and pelvis, leading to suspicion of metastases. Bone scintigraphy was inconclusive and therefore PET/CT-scan with 18 F-fluoride was performed. The PET-scan showed an increased uptake in the vertebral column and other bone lesions, and because of the better spatial resolution combined with anatomic localization and a more sensitive tracer, all foci could be related to joints, and was therefore determined to be non-malignant with a high degree of probability.
