Pandemin hos barn var inte värre än "vanlig" säsongsinfluensa. Största skillnaden var att barnen var äldre, visar studie i norra Stockholm
Sammanfattning
During the 2003 epidemic H3N2 and 2009 pandemic H1N1 influenza, 105 and 94 children were admitted to our hospital. The pandemic received intensive attention from media and infection control authorities, and partly as a consequence of this more children were tested virologically than during ordinary influenza seasons in our area. This makes comparisons with other seasons difficult, but the morbidity in children during the pandemic was probably of a similar magnitude as during ordinary seasons. The median ages of admitted children with seasonal (H2N2) and pandemic (H1N1) influenza were 1.8 and 2.8 years, respectively.
