Sammanfattning

Social networking has evolved to a mainstream form of social interaction. The technology facilitates communication and association with other users who have similar interests. Doctors and patients can interact with one another. Should doctors accept to be »friends« on Facebook? Discussions with colleagues of experiences concerning a difficult patient could suddenly be shared with other network friends, who may be close to the patient. The code of medical ethics for the medical professions remains unchanged, but the practical use needs clarification and an updated customary pattern.
