Psykoanalytisk behandling vid störningar i mor-barnrelationen. Randomiserad kontrollerad studie visar signifikanta behandlingseffekter
Sammanfattning
An RCT study in Stockholm, Sweden, investigated a sample of 80 mothers with infants. Inclusion criteria were that the mothers experienced problems with the baby’s functioning, her own psychic state or with her contact with the child. The study compared two treatments; regular Swedish Child Health Centre care, and a brief psychoanalytic treatment of mother and baby. Significant effects were demonstrated, in favour of the analytic treatment, on mother-reported depression, interviewer-rated dyadic relationships and externally rated maternal sensitivity to the child. Near-significant effects were shown on mother-reported stress. Qualitative pre-treatment assessments indicated that the psychoanalytic treatments especially helped mothers who discerned their part in the relational problems. As for the children, those that were affected by the relational problems seemed especially helped by the analytic method. The results will be published in the Infant Mental Health Journal 2011.
