Sammanfattning
It is a challenge for nurses to involve the patient's perspective and evidence-based knowledge in clinical decisions. A pedagogic reflection model (PRM) has been developed for qualifying decisions in clinical practice. The model's dimensions illustrate the types of knowledge involved in a qualitative clinical decision. Thus the model encompasses knowledge about the individual patient's perspective, about the specific patient group's experience of being sick, about the incidents, risk and interventions with respect to disease, about professional experience as well as knowledge about the organisational framework. Specifically, the model uses various dimensions to analyse, reflect over and discuss a clinical decision. PRM has been tested under individual and group supervision, and preliminary results show that use of PRM leads to improved nursing via new decisions and qualification of past decisions.
