Sammanfattning

The article describes a project where nurses are responsible for preventative and health promotive aspects of outpatient controls for stroke patients in thrombolysis therapy. The project has shown that most patients in thrombolysis therapy at the Department of Neurology, Roskilde Hospital, who receive information during admission, know about preventative dietary, alcohol and exercise advice. Following acute admission, it is meaningful for the patient to be able to choose the areas on which to concentrate. The project shows that staff could be better at providing written information concerning prevention while the patient is admitted. Nurses working with thrombolysis therapy are planning a new study to address a need for increased preventative efforts concerning hypertension.
