Sammanfattning
The article describes the importance of recognizing dysphagia in hospitalised patients. The work of neural rehabilitation is interdisciplinary, with assessments and treatment of dysphagia, in order to ensure sufficient nutrition for the patient without aspiration and the accompanying risk of contracting pneumonia.
All departments should have a broader knowledge about dysphagia. An interdisciplinary response team has been established with nurses from the neurology department attending patients in other departments, and assisting dysphagia screening, etc.
