Sammanfattning
SBU performed a systematic review on pain in the neck and upper musculoskeletal system related to work environmental exposures. The review shows that working with a bent/twisted trunk, combinations of repetitive movements and force, lifting, pushing, pulling or carrying heavy goods, long duration of working with a computer mouse, may increase the risk of pain in the neck, shoulders, arms, elbows, wrists or hands. Psycho-social exposures at work like combinations of high demand and low control, or high demand only, also increase the risk of pain. Causal associations between neck pain and working with the arms above shoulders, often found in other systematic reviews, could not be confirmed in the SBU review. A plausible reason is that the SBU-review included no cross sectional studies whereas other systematic reviews are mainly based on cross sectional studies.
