Urological problems in pregnancy represent a diagnostic and therapeutic challenge. Urinary tract symptoms in pr egnant women comprise urinary tract infections, urolithiasis, hydronephrosis, urinary retention, urinary frequency and urinary incontinence. The primary purpose of this paper was to link our current understanding of the urinary tract anatomy and physiology to urinary tract symptoms in pregnancy and puerperium and the secondary purpose was to provide a review on diagnosis and management of these.
