Utbrott av Pseudomonasfollikulit. Privata spa-anläggningar bov i dramat
Sammanfattning
Hot tubs and whirlpools can cause a clinical syndrome caused by Pseudomonas aeruginosa called Pseudomonas folliculitis. We describe three cases, one from each outbreak that took place in private spa pools during wintertime 2011/2012. In this text signs and symptoms are described and discussed in relation to knowledge about Pseudomonas folliculitis. Private spa pools are widely spread in Sweden. Unlike public spa pools there is no external control of the water quality. Therefore, Pseudomonas folliculitis is likely to be more common than recognised. The purpose of this text is to remind physicians, especially general practitioners that are most likely to meet these patients, about this clinical entity.
