Datoriserad terapi för ångeststörning bör prövas även för barn och unga. Kan ge bättre tillgänglighet till evidensbaserad behandling
Sammanfattning
Anxiety disorders are among the most common mental problems in children and adolescents and often lead to further problems in other life domains. Computerised psychological treatment, a form of self-help, has proven to be an effective treatment for adults with anxiety disorders. However, corresponding research in children and adolescents is limited. The aim of this article is to give an overview of the literature on computer-based treatment for anxiety disorders in children and adolescents. A search of two databases, PubMed and PsycInfo, was conducted and studies were selected for inclusion in accordance with beforehand established criteria. A total of ten articles were included. Seven of these were randomized controlled trials whereas three were case studies with five or less participants. The results are tentatively positive. Computerised treatment could be a way of increasing the availability of evidence based treatments for children and should be evaluated in Sweden.
