Sammanfattning
Higher cesarean delivery rates increase the number of serious complications due to repeated sections. One case of placenta accreta and one case of cesarean scar ectopic pregnancy occurring within a week in a large Swedish Ob/Gyn unit are presented. The incidence of placenta accreta rises to 40 % among women who had two previous cesarean deliveries and an anterior placenta previa. Placenta accreta is associated with an increased blood loss, ureteral damage and bladder injuries. Cesarean scar ectopic pregnancy is difficult but important to diagnose since treatment by curettage is insufficient. Both conditions require careful planning for an optimal treatment. As prevention, vaginal delivery must be encouraged when no medical indications for cesarean sections are present.
