Minimalinvasiv implantation av aortaklaffprotes utvärderas. Prospektiv studie inger hopp om att kirurgiskt trauma kan minskas
Sammanfattning
Aortic valve replacement is traditionally performed through a median sternotomy. Minimally invasive aortic valve replacement is performed through less invasive incisions which reduce the surgical trauma and thereby decrease postoperative bleeding and pain, improve the respiratory function, reduce the incidence of sternal wound infections, and shorten the recovery period after surgery. The use of sutureless bioprostheses facilitates minimally invasive aortic valve replacement. We report our experience in 25 patients where aortic valve replacement was performed with a minimally invasive technique
