Sammanfattning
The purpose of this article is to explore the development of knowledge during training of mental health professionals. This training takes place in a collaboration called UNIK between the University of Agder and the Clinic for Mental Health. The material is drawn from evaluation reports and interviews with students, service users, clinicians and educators. The results are discussed under the themes of context, interaction and relationships, and language and power. The conclusion is that by UNIK it is created a collaborative arena with an interaction and a relationship between the actors which contributes to a discursive development of knowledge. Secondly, the arena contributes to a development of knowledge creating language for lived life and where experiential knowledge meets expertise in a respectful and appreciative atmosphere. The work can be demanding, but feedback from the actors unambiguously positive. It means continued investment and expansion of this way of working in other contexts.
