Födevarebetinget listeria monocytogenes endokarditis
Sammanfattning
Infection with Listeria monocytogenes is rare and mainly seen in immunosuppressed patients. Infection with L. monocytogenes has a mortality rate of 30%. We present a case report of L. monocytogenes bacteraemia and endocarditis in a
70-year-old man with several co-morbidities and following four major surgical procedures. This illustrates the findings and characteristics in one of the 16 patients who died in 2013 and 2014 this summer due to sausage-related L.
monocytogenes infection.
