Sammanfattning
The objective of the current study was to test the hypothesis that maladaptive cognitive emotion regulation strategies mediates the
relationship between daily hassles and depression in individuals with cognitive vulnerability to depression. A total of 175 university
students with cognitive vulnerability to depression were recruited (weakest-link approach to identify the participants with cognitive
vulnerability from 1017 university students) and 842 individuals with no cognitive vulnerability completed questionnaires measuring
cognitive emotion regulation strategies (Cognitive Emotion Regulation Questionnaire), depression (Center for Epidemiologic Studies
Depression Scale), and daily hassles (General Social and Academic Hassles Scale for Students). Results using structural equation
modeling showed that the total scores of maladaptive cognitive emotion regulation strategies partially mediated the relationship between
daily hassles and depression in the sample of individuals with cognitive vulnerability but not in the sample of individuals with no cognitive
vulnerability. Moreover, in the sample of individuals with cognitive vulnerability, the catastrophizing of the maladaptive cognitive emotion
regulation strategy partially mediated the relationship between daily hassles and depression. In contrast, the others of maladaptive
cognitive emotion regulation strategies did not mediate the influence of daily hassles on depression
