Prokrastinering - hvorfor studenter utsetter ting, og hvordan utsettelse påvirker velvaere og
helse
Sammanfattning
Procrastination - habitual delay of planned behavior - is a common problem, especially among
students. This paper focuses on the negative consequences such delay has on wellbeing and health.
Related to this question we examined how procrastination affects coping strategies under stress, and
how students use delay to increase motivation. Students (n=209) answered a questionnaire focusing
on working habits, wellbeing and health. The results indicated that even moderate degree of
procrastination was associated with reduced wellbeing. We discuss implications of this finding and
argue that Norwegian universities should arrange preventive courses aiming at the reduction of
procrastination.
