Sammanfattning
Observation studies have shown that overweight in patients with congestive heart failure is associated with lower risk of all-cause mortality and
cardiovascular mortality. This is called the paradox of obesity. Other studies do not support this correlation. In conclusion, a stable body weight is
recommended for patients with a BMI of 25-29.9 kg/m2. If BMI ? 40 kg/m2, weight loss is recommended. There is no consensus for weight reduction if BMI is
30-40 kg/m2.
