Sammanfattning

The article describes the pressure sore intervention at Odense University Hospital (OUH) and the goals of the intervention. The article outlines the findings of difference prevalence studies at OUH over the period 2012-2015. A table shows that the number of pressure sores, in percentage terms, has decreased significantly over the period in which systematic efforts were made to prevent pressure sores. The article then describes the pressure sore intervention in greater detail; that is, the project, the prevalence studies, contact person scheme, the roles and responsibilities of the pressure sore nurse, contact person networks, the concept of "pressure-sore-free days" and how these are celebrated and recognised. The article subsequently focuses on activities resulting from the project and from the function of the pressure sore nurse. * Focus on prevention of pressure sores on surgical wards * Sensor sheet trialling * Prevention at H.C. Andersen’s Børnehospital (children’s hospital)’ * Survey of hip patients * Intervention in cardiac intensive care unit The article rounds off with a summary of the other activities and interventions undertaken by the pressure sore nurse and presents perspectives on future efforts in pressure sore prevention
