Sammanfattning
Every year about 100-150 people in Sweden suffer a traumatic spinal cord
injury that results in total paralysis. Technological medical advances have
led to people being able to survive accidents, but return to a life that is very
physically limited compared to before the injury. The study shows that those
with spinal cord injuries can experience a quality of life and meaning in life
and that the ability to redefine their life situation and create a new meaningfulness
is important to adapt to the new life after the injury, and experience
a quality of life. This study focuses on what it is that helps those with spinal
cord injuries to achieve a higher quality of life and meaning after the injury.
