Sammanfattning

This article describes a new model designed to provide professionals, parents and other important people in day-to-day contact with children and young people to create space for resilience-based interventions which can also be called Resilient Therapy (RT). Children living in vulnerable situations, on the run or in crisis can display incredible resilience and develop successfully "against all odds" to become what are known in Swedish as "dandelion children". The children may have experienced traumatic events or other events with a great psychological strain. The basic idea of RT is that the adults in the child’s environment may use different approaches to help to strengthen the child’s resilience. The article presents a magic box with five different approaches that include tools to build and develop the child’s resilience and promote optimal development.
