Hva vet vi om bruken av opioider ved ikke-malign smerte? Resultater fra studier basert på
Reseptregistret 2004-2014
Sammanfattning
Aim: To review what we know about the use of opioids for chronic non-malignant pain (CNMP) in Norway based on results from studies analyzing data from the Norwegian Prescription Database (NorPD).
Methods: A systematic review was conducted. The search identified 26 papers studying the use of opioids for CNMP based on material from the NorPD.
Results: Twelve percent of the Norwegian population receives opioids annually, with less than 1% receiving opioids regularly. After a gradual increasing use during the period of 1999-2009, the use of opioids has stabilized during the last five years. Less than 1/3 of the regular opioid users continue into long-term use and a majority of the patients report strong pain despite having a regular use of opioids. 58% of regular users of opioids also receive regular treatment with benzodiazepines or z-hypnotics.
Conclusion: The use of opioids for CNMP in Norway is not in accordance with current guidelines. This concerns in particular the concomitant use of other addictive drugs, continuation of therapy despite lack of effect and the simultaneous use of different opioids.
