Akut nyresvigt hos to unge veltraenede maend efter deltagelse i ekstremsportskonkurrence
Sammanfattning
In two case report Danish men, who were experienced amateur athletes, suffered from severe reversible acute renal failure after participation in a trail run and a
long-distance bike race. For both men the treatment was dialysis, diuretics and fluid therapy. The cause of renal failure was never fully clarified. Both men consumed non-
steroidal antiinflammatory drugs during the race, had high levels of creatinine kinase and were dehydrated. Possibly, these factors together resulted in “the perfect storm”
and caused acute reversible renal failure.
