Psykoedukasjon i gruppe for personer med bipolar lidelse. Presentasjon av en kursmodell,
deltagernes tilfredshet, og implementeringserfaringer
Sammanfattning
Group psychoeducation is shown to have long-lasting prophylactic effects in individuals with
bipolar disorders. Since 2007, Vestre Viken Hospital Trust has arranged 30 courses for nearly 330
individuals with bipolar disorders, type 1 and 2. In this article, the 11-session model is described.
142 participants from 15 courses have provided written evaluations after completing the course. On a
scale from 1 to 5 («very useful») the aggregated mean score of individual sessions was 4.2 (SD 0.6).
The overall satisfaction with the course was 4.6 (SD 0.6). Written feedback to open questions
suggests three overarching subjective benefits from attending the course: knowledge, meeting others
with the same disorder, and strengthened self-esteem and confidence in the future. In this article, the
authors also suggest necessary preconditions for the successful implementation of group
psychoeducation in a general outpatient hospital setting, and discuss illness characteristics that may
influence how beneficial the course model is for individual participants.
