Sammanfattning

News media publishes various reports on disability issues in various content. This study’s aim is to see how ethics, disability and co-research have been described in Swedish media during the period 1997-2015. The aim was to highlight the different perspectives of the media news articles. The collected text material consisting of 26 published articles were analysed using qualitative content analysis method. The result shows that scientists’ perspective dominate in the material. Medical and health science research has a prominent role. The opinion-forming material is also prominent in the news media. The disability movement is not expressed. The ethical content of the material can be sorted into four ethical approaches: the good life, dignified treatment, autonomy and research ethics. In summary, the study shows that there is a need to strengthen the disability movement’s position in relation to the scientific community and media.
