Sammanfattning
Norwegian Family Protection Service is mandated to supply specialized treatment for families with children and violence. This study examines services given in all such cases (106) at one large Norwegian office during one year, utilizing a mixed method of semi-structured questionnaires and a participatory research approach among all professionals at the office to explore main characteristics of ongoing work and future challenges. The study shows success with providing fast-track-services to private persons and collaborating agencies. However, despite priority, a major neglect of children as part-taking subjects takes place. Assignment to the UN Convention of the Rights of the Child demands efforts to include children’s voices. Enforced de-facto inclusion of the child is needed to provide family-protection in accordance with the mandate.
