Persepsjon av visuell bevegelse og prospektiv kontroll: Hjerne- og atferdsstudier hos terminfödte og premature spedbarn
Sammanfattning
In infancy, we develop perceptual mechanisms that allow us to correctly perceive our surroundings, and to calculate our next movement so as to avoid unwanted collisions. The relationship between perception and behaviour is crucial to our ability to execute adequate prospective control. This article presents brain and behavioural research examining the development of prospective control in healthy, full-term infants, and in infants born prematurely. There are indications that preterm birth affects visual perception of motion, and hence prospective control. Identifying deficits in visual motion perception and early intervention may therefore be important in preventing problems with clumsiness.
