Sammanfattning

The article describes living conditions of separated and unaccompanied minor refugees in Norway. In my study from 2005 about refugee children and resilience, five teenagers described their experiences as refugee children, and how life in refugee centers affects their mental health. Their experiences are compared to the situations of unaccompanied refugee children today, and point to the significance of a friendly environment for development of mental health and the process of resilience.
