Sammanfattning
Dialogue is important in mental health work; however, it disappears when mental health workers adopt
an expert role. If we recognise that humans are first dialogical creatures and that first-person experiences
and explanations emerge from what happens between people, then switching track in mental
health work seems necessary. By starting from the second person position and an exchange of experiences,
we facilitate opportunities for both parties to articulate their thoughts, feelings and actions in a language
that is valid for the community. A language that springs from dialogue is fundamental to our
humanity.
